Welcome to the “X”!

The “X” is the youth group of the Burtt’s Corner Church of Christ. We meet Monday Nights from 6:30-8:30 for grades 6-12. We hang out, play games, go to cool events and learn about God! There is awesome music and loads of excitement and there is also small group environments to discuss important life issues and what the Bible has to say about them.

RULES

Like anywhere, we have a few rules that make life easier for everyone, they’re not hard to follow, here they are!!

• Once you arrive at the “X” you are with us for the night. If you leave the property you are not allowed to return. No need to go to the store as we have our own canteen which pays for a lot of what we do!
• New this year, NO ENERGY DRINKS – trust me, you don’t need them!
• Please dress modestly and appropriately. This means girls, cover up the 4 B’s (belly, breasts, butts and back). If you come to youth group dressed inappropriately a shirt will be provided for you to wear! Also, no one wants to see your underwear. Boys, no one wants to see your underwear either! Obscene and offensive messages on shirts are also a no no.
• No foul language, please do your best to watch your mouth at youth group.
• Be respectful. Please listen to your leaders, without them this group would not exist. Treat each other kindly as well.
• Cell phones are permitted. However, no texting during worship or lesson time, that kind of fits into that respect thing. If all else fail try talking to the people who are physically with you!
• Please stay off the stage and away from the computer/sound gear… it’s expensive!

Parents

Regular youth group meetings always start at 6:30 and end at 8:30. For their safety and the convenience of our leaders please try not to drop them off any earlier than 6:15 and pick them up on time.

If you are willing to drive for events please let Dan know as we are frequently looking for drivers.

Most outings will need to be signed up for by a certain date. If that date is not met, the youth will not be permitted to attend.

New this year we are starting a canteen, from which they can purchase pop, chips, candy bars and other such items. The proceeds from this will help fund the events we do throughout the year. For this reason, they have no need to leave the church to go to the store. They have been made aware once they leave the premises, they are not allowed to return for the evening.

Whenever School is cancelled due to weather or holiday, youth group is also cancelled.
