On Sunday, May 30 we will be joined by 4 time Dove Award Winning Artist, Geoff Moore. Geoff also co-wrote numerous songs with Steven Curtis Chapman including the title track on Chapman’s 1992 Dove Award and Grammy winning release The Great Adventure.
Possessing little more than a deep, gravelly voice and a three-song demo produced by a childhood friend, Geoff left the comfort of his Michigan home and the security of the family business to pursue Nashville’s music industry. Twenty-two years and sixteen albums later Geoff Moore can look back now knowing he made the right choice, hearing God’s voice through the clamor of life.
‘When I first started making records, I soon discovered that being a recording artist gives you a platform. Through the years that platform has allowed me the privilege of, not only sharing my songs with a lot of people, but promoting causes I believe in.
Geoff will be leading our Sunday Morning Worship Service and will share about his work with Compassion Canada. Compassion has been the most significant partnership of my ministry. You may have heard me say that I believe if we are Christians, it is not if we help the poor, it is simply a question of how. I want you to know that I have seen the work of Compassion. I have met their employees and thousands of the children they help everyday.’
Invite your family and friends to what is sure to be a great morning of worship!
There will be a FREE men’s breakfast on Mar 20th, 2010 from 8:00 – 9:00 AM. Be sure to get there early and to come hungry.

Share Christ’s love with those you love by bringing a “sweetheart” to church on Sunday Feb. 14th for our Valentine’s Day themed service.
Bring your spouse, grandparent, parent, neighbor, friend, child, etc. to share in God’s love and in the love of our congregation. Tell someone special you love them on Valentine’s Day!
Submit a photo of the person(s) you love and be a part of our video valentine presentation which will be shown during our morning worship service. Maybe you are a parent who wants to tell your children they are loved, a husband (trying to earn brownie points) who wants to tell his wife she is loved, a grandparent, friend… Photos can be handed or emailed to Adam at ahanson@nbnet.nb.ca and must be received no later than Feb. 10 in order to be included in the presentation.
Please include the message you want put up with the picture.
The service will be followed by a potluck meal where you are encouraged to bring something to share with a “Valentine Theme”.
Got the not-enough-daylight-hours wintertime blues? Here are a few ways Health magazine and the Burtts Corner Church of Christ recommend to perk up your smile quotient.
Be sociable!
People laugh 30 times more often in a social setting than they do alone, so please join us this Sunday, Jan. 24, 2:00-4:00 pm for FREE winter carnival fun.
Try something new!
Go somewhere new with a friend and you’ll get twice the laughs! Come to the “Beat the Blues” Winter Carnival at the Burtts Corner Church of Christ.
Hear the music!
Indulge your sense of hearing and your wallet too. Spend the evening–not a fortune–not even a cent!–at a FREE concert with Stephanie Israelson. She and her band will be performing from their newest release at 7:00 pm on Sunday, Jan. 24.
We’re looking forward to seeing your smile this Sunday at the Burtts Corner Church of Christ. There will also be a special presentation during our morning service at 10:30 by Betsy and Lori McGuigan on their recent mission trip to the Dominican Republic. See you on Sunday!
The Community Outreach Team is planning a free event for Sunday afternoon, Jan 24th from 2:00 – 4:00 PM. There will be various activities for all ages, both indoors and out (weather permitting).
Please use the Winter Carnival insert as an invitation for you family, friends & neighbors. A similar invitation has bee passed to everyone at the Public Skate this afternoon at the KV Arena.
As with our other Community Outreach Events, the Winter Carnival is a huge task requiring volunteers to take on various tasks, but it is also a very enjoyable way to spend some time in service and a great way to get to know people better. Please offer to help however you are able.
Sign-up sheets are at the Welcome Center, so don’t delay! Volunteers are needed for helping with outdoor activities (we hope!), leading crafts, bringing jig-saw puzzles and board games, displaying snowmen figures, providing home baked rolls and treats, judging the maple recipe contest, supervising the youth room, serving food, taking photographs, setting up and cleaning up, etc…
Come in from the cold for an afternoon of free fun at the “Beat the Blues” Winter Carnival on Sunday, January 24 from 2:00-4:00 pm. Activities for all ages: arts and crafts, movies and music, games and goodies, a cooking contest, home-made turkey soup and rolls. Outdoor activities will be held weather permitting.
