Fundraiser Dinner to Help MCC Students
A dinner is being hosted by Central Christian Church at 223 Kent Street, Charlottetown, to benefit Maritime Christian College students’ trip to the Holy Land. The three course dinner will be held on Monday, January 24 at 6:30 pm. A free will offering will be taken. To make a reservation call 902-628-887 or 902-894-5234.

We are receiving nominations for the offices of elder and deacon. Any member who would like to nominate someone for one of these offices must submit that name, in writing, to one of our elders on or before January 31.

Please submit all reports for the 2010 Annual Report to Deborah Jones on or before January 31. We would like to have the Annual Report compiled and ready for distribution prior to the Annual Meeting on February 21.

The Annual Meeting of the Congregation will be held on Monday, February 21 at 7:00 pm.

Men’s Retreat
Hello! It is time once again to remind everyone of the upcoming Men’s Retreat on Feb 5, 2011. We will start around 9am at the L’Etete Church of Christ with registrations. We hope you will be able to promote this event among the men of your congregations in hopes to have as many people out as possible this year. The theme this year is “Keeping Our Focus During Difficult Times”. As we know, much of Eastern New Brunswick and Nova Scotia has been hit with disaster this year. Even if we escaped the floods and high winds we can still see how it affects so many homes.

The speakers this year will be myself (Giles Mullen) and my uncle from Nova Scotia, Avery Mullen. Some of you may remember Avery from past retreats. He is not trained as a speaker but has filled in many times at his home congregation at Southville, NS when the minister is away. He is no stranger to hardship and sickness yet continues to place his trust and faith in God for daily deliverance. The cost of registration will continue to be $20 which includes lunch and snacks. We will have a special offering again this year which will allow anyone who wishes to help with “missions” to give the amount they would like to give.

We would also ask that if any of the Churches would like to share about what is taking place within their congregations, missions, future plans, etc, we would love to schedule a bit of time to hear what God is doing through you. Please let us know so we can schedule enough time for this. If anyone would be interested in doing a special song or instrumental, we would love to have you share that with us as well.

February 13 is our Sweetheart Sunday Worship Service.
Do you want to give a special Valentine message to a person you love? Bring your “sweetheart” spouse, friend, sister, brother, parent, grandparent, neighbor, child, grandchild, etc. to share God’s love and the love of our whole congregation. The perfect message of love is God’s Word from the one and only true God of this universe! See John 3:16

On Sunday morning, Feb 13 we will be viewing a slideshow presentation of valentines! So, please join us and select a photo of the person(s) you love and be a part of our video valentine presentation which will be shown during our morning worship service. Maybe you are a parent who wants to tell your children they are loved, a husband (trying to earn brownie points) who wants to tell his wife she is loved, a grandparent, friend… Photos can be hand delivered, or emailed to Adam at ahanson@nbnet.nb.ca, and must be received no later than Feb. 6 in order to be included in the presentation. With the picture, please include a message to your sweetheart. The worship service will be followed by a Sweetheart Spaghetti Dinner (spaghetti and rolls provided by the church). If you want, you may bring a dessert to share. The spaghetti dinner will also celebrate a Baby Shower for Geoffrey and Andrea Pugh.

Help For Flood Victims—Benefit Concert
The Benefit Concert held on Saturday evening, January 8, at the Keswick Valley School was a tremendous success! Many thanks to Gerald Rushton, Lawrence and Connie Dunham, Sterling Peterson, Randy and Tammy Griffiths, Brenda Luce, and The Gospel Way for participating in the evening of praise. Attendance was approximately 325 people. Praise God for all the people coming together to help their neighbours in need. Donations totaled $7,400 and was placed In Trust with Capital Credit Union, 30 Hughes St., Fredericton, NB E3A 2W3, under Keswick Valley Flood Relief. Anyone can contact the Credit union to donate. Help For Flood Victims—Turkey Supper
On Saturday, January 22, the members of the Pentecostal Church in Zealand are planning to hold a turkey supper to benefit flood victims.

Upcoming Men’s Retreat – Giles Mullen (excerpt)
Hello again! It is already time to start thinking about the upcoming men’s retreat scheduled for Feb 5, 2011. The theme this year will be “KEEPING YOUR FOCUS IN DIFFICULT TIMES.” It will be hosted again this year at the L’Etete Church of Christ, 32 Mascarene Road. It is always a pleasure for us to host it and see all the men who will come out to take part in the special day of worship as well as to give God an entire day of worship, 9am — 4 pm.

If you would like to provide a special song or instrumental for our enjoyment, please let me know ahead of time so we can build that into our time of praise. The registration is $20 per person; includes lunch and snacks. There will be a special offering taken which will be directed toward missions.

Please make plans to attend. We pray for good weather again this year in hopes that everyone who wants to attend will be able to! See you on Feb 5th!

GriefShare support group at Grace Memorial Baptist Church will start on Monday, Jan 17, 7:00-9:00 PM and run for 13 weeks.

DivorceCare and DivorceCare for Kids support groups at Grace Memorial Baptist Church will start on Tuesday, Jan 18, 6:30-8:30 PM and run for 13 weeks. Adults and children (ages 5-12) who are trying to cope with separation or divorce are welcome to attend.

Flood Relief Spaghetti Fundraiser

The great folks at Porter’s Diner and The Acorn Restaurant (Petro-Canada near Kings Landing) have teamed up to spearhead this benefit supper for flood victims in our area. They have graciously donated all the food (prepared!) and kitchen help to plate everything up. Volun-teers from our church are needed between 2:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. to help set the tables, wait tables, and then clean-up after the supper. We also need to spread the word and invite all of our family and friends to attend! All the proceeds from the dinner will be given to Samaritan’s Purse. Sign-up sheets are located at the welcome center. Please sign up today!

Flood Relief Spaghetti Fundraiser Sat Jan 15th

A Flood Relief Spaghetti Fundraiser will be held from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Saturday, January 15th at the Keswick Valley Memorial School. Cost is $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for children under 13. All proceed go towards the efforts of Samaritan’s Purse to help the flood victims in our area.

To assist us in gauging attendance levels, please contact 363-4467.

We praise God and thank you, his people, for a successful Community Christmas Dinner held yesterday. Christmas is for giving!!

Thank you for donating the beautiful poinsettias decorating our building. (Please note: the cost was only $10.00 a plant, not $11.00 as mentioned originally).

On Dec. 11 our church will be one of the stops on the Annual Christmas Home Tour to support preschool programs
at Keswick Valley Memorial School.

Our Christmas Gifts Service: On Sunday, Dec. 19 please bring a gift of yourself for the Lord, such as a song, a reading, a play, a poem, an instrumental,, etc. Please let Dan or Graham know how you will participate and get your name on the sign up sheet at the Welcome Center. Home-made cookies and punch will be served after the service, so please bring something to share.

Central America and Africa. Lets remember to pray for the children!

Your response to the Just One Challenge that was put forward a couple of weeks ago was very encouraging. Christians across North America were challenged, each one, to pray for one more full-time worker for the Lord’s harvest field.

Remember to pray daily for the one you have asked the Lord to call into his service!.
