Graduation exercises were held on Saturday, May 7 at 11:00 am at Maritime Christian College. Guest speaker was Dan Foreman. Graham Crandall also attended the ceremony. Let’s pray for the graduates. As the school year has drawn to a close, also pray for Chelsey Gilbert and Lily Gilbert as they transition homeward after their first year, and seek to secure summer employment.

Thinking of past MCC graduates, please keep the following in prayer: Ben Foreman (& family), who is Recruitment and Admissions Officer for MCC; Darrell Haines (& Amanda), pastoring at South Range Christian Church in Nova Scotia; and Murray Spencer (& family), recently returned to resume ministry with Lord’s Cove Church of Christ, Deer Island. We thank God for these men who have grown up in our own congregation and are faithfully serving God in Atlantic Canada.

CAN TABS FOR MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY

It’s easy, just pop the tab off and save it. You can still turn in the can for a refund. Pick up a baggie at the Welcome Center today. BOLIVIA MISSION TRIP NEWS
Peter MacNeill, as part of a group of ten school classmates and seven supervisors, left early the morning of March 3, 2011 for a mission trip to Bolivia, South America. Besides Peter, those who went included: Philip & Roger Drost, Brittany & Sarah Jane Gilliss, Mitchell Upton, Shannon Amos, Joel Bishop, Alyssa Hazzard, Jordan Forsythe, Brandon & Brenda Meikle, Sarah Jarvis, Randy & Beth Fox and Kevin & Daphne Boyd. These students attend Devon Park Christian School, Fredericton.

Peter enjoyed his time in Bolivia. He says his Spanish improved every day and he ate very well while there. They did a lot of work building/repairing orphanages, which Peter particularly enjoyed. He’s used to long days and hard work (working part time at a farm for the past three years). The missions team stayed in a city called Cochabamba with a population of about 610,000 people. Every day, they would take their chartered bus to a missions site where they would work and also play with the children. They also participated in the weekly baby wash, where a large group of people gathered to have their babies and small children bathed. They saw many little ones cleaned of dirt and clothed in the new outfits that the team brought with them from here. Many local people were weeping with gratitude for the clothes they received and the care given by the missions team. Peter remarked about how the children down there are so happy with so little. Just tossing a ball around with them could entertain them for hours. And if you had any kind of candy with you, you became very popular.

The team returned home late Sunday, March 13. Peter says he’d definitely like to return there someday.

The Gospel Way
Sat Mar 26th at 7:00 pm The bluegrass gospel bank ―The Gospel Way will be hosting a benefit concert at Burtts Corner Church of Christ, for Danny Palmer originally of Millville. Danny is making plans to go to USA for help with his M.S. All proceeds from the love offering will go to Danny to help with expenses. Also appearing at the concert will be the popular group ―The Weavers‖ as well as Wanda Greaves. See you there! Come one, come all!
